In her own words: Nakenzie's love for swimming

When her mom applied for Hous Foundation support, 12-year old Nakenzie wrote about why she loves swimming.

I want to keep swimming because it’s something I truly love and have been doing for a while now. Being in the water makes me feel confident, focused, and strong. I really enjoy learning new strokes, improving my speed, and pushing myself to do better each time I swim.

It’s one of my favorite things to do. I like being part of a team where everyone works hard and supports each other. My coaches have helped me become a better swimmer, and I like setting goals to beat my times and learn new techniques.

Swimming has taught me how to be patient, dedicated, and disciplined. It’s not always easy, but it’s worth it when I see how much I’ve improved. I like cheering on my teammates, racing, and being part of something that helps me grow both in and out of the pool.

My goal is to keep getting faster, stronger, and to maybe swim in bigger meets one day. Swimming makes me happy and helps me stay motivated, so I’m excited to keep working hard and being the best swimmer I can be.

At a young age, Nakenzie is already aware of the lessons and benefits of swimming with the Hydra Aquatics swim team. Keep up the hard work Nakenzie! We are cheering for you!
