Each June, The Hous Foundation Presents
The Great Ladybug Hunt

What is the Great Ladybug Hunt?
The Great Ladybug Hunt is a month-long event organized by the Hous Foundation. We invite families to get creative and adventurous by painting, hiding, and finding ladybug rocks.

The goal of the Great Ladybug Hunt is to raise awareness about the Hous Foundation's mission to help kids participate in non-school activities. By participating in the Great Ladybug Hunt, you’ll not only have fun but also spread the word about a great cause, helping children access experiences outside of school.
How to Participate
Paint: Gather smooth rocks and paint them to look like ladybugs. Unleash your creativity and make each ladybug rock unique. Use a permanent marker to write housfoundation.org/ladybugs on the back of your rock. Click here for some tips.
Hide: Once your ladybug rocks are ready, hide them in various locations around your community. Parks, playgrounds, and walking trails are great spots to place your painted creations.
Find: Go on a ladybug hunt with your family and friends. Explore your neighborhood and discover hidden ladybug rocks left by others.
Share: Take photos of the ladybug rocks you paint and the ladybug rocks you find and share them on social media using the hashtag #HousLadybugs. Encourage others to join the fun! (Kids, ask your parents for help.)

Enter the Raffle: When you post using #HousLadybugs, your name will be entered in the raffle drawing. We will pick one winner each Friday in June. You’ll get extra entries for following the Hous Foundation on social media and signing up for our quarterly newsletter. Check out the 2025 raffle prizes here!
Ways your company or organization can get involved
In May 2026, we will begin preparing for The Great ladybug Hunt by painting 1,000 ladybug rocks. Painting is a great group activity. We can help with supplies or a supply list and give a short presentation about the Hous Foundation and the Great Ladybug Hunt. Contact Sonya at sthesing@housfoundation.org or 614-259-7329.
Do you have a raffle item to share? We prefer family fun donations – including tickets to events and venues in central Ohio.
