The Hous Foundation, a Columbus nonprofit dedicated to helping kids participate in extracurricular and non-school activities, is proud to announce a new partnership with Locker Soccer Academy, a leading soccer development program for youth in central Ohio.
Both organizations recognize and value the benefits of participating in activities outside of school. Through this partnership, The Hous Foundation joins Impact60 as the second nonprofit to be supported by Locker Soccer. In addition to hosting the Hous Foundation’s signature fundraising event, Locker Soccer Academy will share the Foundation’s mission and work with their Academy and Elite Club families.
“Extracurricular activities are more than just fun—studies show that participation leads to higher attendance rates, decreased risk behaviors, and increased future opportunities,” said Sonya Thesing, Executive Director of The Hous Foundation. “By partnering with Locker Soccer, we can share our mission with families who understand the benefits children receive from non-school activities.”
Locker Soccer, founded on the belief that play should be fun, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate, has long been committed to helping kids thrive both on and off the field.
“We’re thrilled to team up with the Hous Foundation to make extracurriculars accessible to more families,” said Steve Locker, Founder and Owner of Locker Soccer. “We have a great community of families at our Academy and Elite Club. This partnership will add the element of giving back to the community for our players and parents.”
The partnership will kick off with Family Fun Night on Saturday, November 22 at Locker Soccer Academy. In addition to soccer and non-soccer activities for children, there will be pizza, snacks, and great raffle packages for all ages. More information is at www.housfoundation.org/events.
